My non-alcoholic aperol spritz recipe calls for soda water, cranberry juice, and zero-proof aperitif. It’s refreshing and vibrant with a complex, bittersweet flavor.

The classic Aperol Spritz is commonly served during the summer months but this winter cranberry Aperol spritz is perfect from fall until spring! We're turning this iconic effervescent cocktail into a mocktail worth making.

Why you'll love this recipe

  • Simple ingredients: All you need is 3 ingredients to make a flavorful alcohol free drink! Just combine everything in a glass, stir, and enjoy.
  • Non alcoholic alternative: This Italian mocktail is great for enjoying during the holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve, as well as Dry January.
  • Light and bubbly: Who doesn't love a fun drink for aperitivo hour?! This fizzy mocktail is perfect for sipping on before dinner or at any social gathering.

Ingredient notes

Here's what you'll need to make a delicious alcohol-free spritz!

  • Non-alcoholic aperitif: I suggest using Ritual Aperitif Alternative! This award-winning aperitif is aromatic, herbaceous, and bold. I love the Ritual Zero Proof spirits because they are crafted, not distilled – meaning it never has any alcohol to begin with.
  • Sparkling water: Use any type of sparkling water you like such as seltzer water, club soda, or tonic water
  • Cranberry juice: In addition to its great tart taste, cranberry juice adds a festive flavor to this drink! It also enhances the beautiful bright orange hue spritzes are known for.

How to make an Aperol Spritz mocktail

The full instructions for this alcohol free aperol spritz are found down below in the recipe card.

Step 1: Fill glass with ice

Fill a wine glass or cocktail glass of choice with ice – I prefer crushed ice!

Step 2: Make the aperitif mocktail

Pour the cranberry juice and non-alcoholic aperitif into the glass then top with soda water.

Step 3: Garnish and serve

Gently stir the ingredients together in the glass. Garnish and enjoy immediately!

NA Aperol Spritz tips

Take your non-alcoholic Italian Aperol Spritz to the next level with these tips:

  • Garnish with a slice of orange, a sprig of rosemary, or other fresh herbs.
  • Make ahead and store in the fridge. Just before serving, stir in the soda water.
  • Swap out the cranberry juice for grapefruit juice or a combination of juices like orange juice and pineapple juice.
  • Add a splash of simple syrup to add sweetness and balance out the bitter flavors.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice or lemon juice for citrus herbal notes.
  • Serve with fresh fruits, charcuterie, scarpaccia, or bruschetta.

I hope you enjoy this virgin Aperol Spritz as much as we do! Want to see more mocktail recipes? Be sure to let me know.
