Smoked potato chips on the pellet grill are so easy to make. It's a simple snack that's full of smoky flavor. Serve these at your next cookout!
Why you'll love this recipe
- Minimal effort: This is a great smoker recipe to try when you're smoking meat (like Texas-style smoked brisket) and have extra space on the grill. Just dump chips into a foil pan, season, and smoke.
- Customizable: The sky is the limit when it comes to making homemade smoked potato chips! Make them spicy, give them extra smoke flavor, season with your favorite bbq blend.
- Great for any occasion: These smoked potato chips are the perfect side dish for backyard barbecues. They're also great for game day, parties, family get-togethers, and afternoon snacking.
Ingredient notes
- Potato chips: I've made smoked potato chips with regular classic potato chips like Lay's, as well as crinkle-cut potato chips like Ruffles. The ridges in Ruffles make these chips extra crispy and crunchy!
- Seasoning: You actually don't need to add seasoning if you don't want to, but I'd recommend it for added flavor. Just a few shakes of your favorite seasoning blend will do the trick.
- Cooking oil spray: If you use seasoning, be sure to spray the chips with cooking spray so the seasoning sticks better.
