In my opinion, these are the best restaurants in North Dallas! I have put off putting these down in writing in case another contender came into the picture but so far, these are my favorite North Dallas restaurants.
Dallas has truly awesome food. I feel so lucky to live here but if we're being honest I rarely venture down 75 or the Dallas North Tollway. Especially since moving to the suburbs, I hardly go past 635. #SuburbLife It's amazing how much the food scene is growing around McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Denton, and beyond!
I love trying new spots and haven't had many bad experiences but there are three places in particular that have stolen my heart and keep me coming back.
For the most part, I'm pretty easy to please but these spots really pay special attention to those of us with dietary restrictions. I always feel so comfortable and confident when I order and eat out here, so I just had to share my top picks with y'all.
True Food Kitchen
Obsessed. Their Butternut Squash pizza is still the best pizza I've ever had. With caramelized onion, roasted garlic, kale, vegan almond ricotta, dried cranberry, and sage – what's not to love?
You may remember my full post over Allergy-Friendly Eating at True Food Kitchen. They have a great patio, bright indoor area, awesome drinks, and healthy tasty food. Plus, everything is super "gram-worthy" 😉
I would recommend going for brunch and sitting out on the patio. They have locations all over the states but two in Dallas, one at The Plaza at Preston Center and one in the burbs at Legacy West in Plano, TX.
Modern Market
I can't say enough great things about this spot. Modern Market also has multiple locations all around, but a second Plano, TX location just recently opened. Keep moving north, y'all!!
I love this restaurant because it's quick, casual, and always delicious. They offer tons of vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options without compromising flavor.
I love Modern Market for lunch or dinner, my top picks are their sesame glazed tofu buddha bowl and pizza with vegan cheese.
UP Inspired Kitchen
This spot is so perfect for a casual coffee or better-for-you brunch! It's bright and light, you can't help but feel awake and cheery in there.
I love their avocado toast and Whistler Vedge Hash, with roasted root veggies, bacon, quinoa, and brassicas. The location is just off DNT in Frisco, not far from the Stonebriar mall, The Star, and Frisco Square
I first came here for a blogger meetup, you can read all about that here!
Honorable Mention
Kotta Sushi in Frisco, TX: I used to eat sushi way more often than I do now but this is my favorite sushi spot in the DFW area.
They have a great lunch but also intimate dinner. My husband and I used to do date nights here all the time and we actually came here right after getting engaged. So yeah, it holds a special place in my heart.
Next on my list
The Yard in McKinney, TX: This fun spot just opened a couple months ago and like their name states, they have an awesome outdoor space.
They're located in Downtown McKinney with patio seats, yard games, and indoor space. I'm hoping to check The Yard out this fall when it's enjoyable to be outside in Texas! Their drink menu looks fantastic. Happy hour or Sunday Funday, anyone?
So there it is! I hope you found my favorite North Dallas restaurants helpful! Did I leave a spot off that really deserves to be included? I love trying new spots, so be sure to let me know.

I loved dining at 'The Yard' in McKinney. I'm from Arlington TX. Hope you do some restaurant reviews in my 'neck of the woods'. Also did you intend to spell 'URBAN" as "Urben"?

Dallas is definitely on my bucket list! I've heard it is a fabulous city, and so good to know they have ample special diet options.

Thanks for the suggestions! I live in Oak Cliff and don't make it far north that often, but may need to make a trip soon to try these out. We're always up for trying something new.
Jenna | The Urben Life
Absolutely 🙂 I need to check out a few new spots in Oak Cliff! Have a favorite brunch spot?
Clint
Definitely hit up Jonathan's Oak Cliff. Best Chicken and Waffles in DFW!
Jenna | The Urben Life
Oh yum! I'll have to remember that for the holidays. My mom loves chicken and waffles.
