What's more delicious than soft and chewy brownies? ...not much else! I love these dairy-free and egg-free brownies because they come together with accessible and simple ingredients. They're great for any occasion or a lovely treat yo' self moment.

How to Make Dairy Free Brownies
I love how there was no need for flax eggs, applesauce, or another egg replacer. Plus, they're quick and easy!
Simply preheat your oven, melt coconut oil with vegan chocolate chips, mix in sugar, plant-based milk, vanilla extract, flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then bake for about 30 minutes.

Vegan Brownie Recipe Variations
Using coconut oil is great for vegan and dairy-free desserts because it makes treats irresistibly soft and chewy! These eggless brownies can be easily altered for vegan and/or gluten-free diets.
- To make vegan brownies: Use vegan-friendly sugar. If you don't have refined coconut oil, replace with vegan butter
- To make gluten-free brownies: Use your favorite gluten-free flour

Did anyone else have trouble with their brownies crumbling? They were somewhat chewy but didn’t hold together well when I tried to cut them into squares. I did use brown sugar instead of regular. Would that have made the difference?

Hi Sabrina! I'm so sorry your brownies turned out crumbly. Yes, using brown sugar instead of white sugar will change the texture.
A few tips I have for these specifically is to measure the oil very carefully, don't over mix or over bake, and let these brownies cool completely before slicing. Sometimes I'll even pop them in the fridge to help firm up.
Hope this helps 🙂

My oven at home doesn’t bake properly either, so I do what you did. I think if you take them out even if gooey and let then set on counter until cool, they will much better. I also have a tendency to overtake. I’m going to sub out dairy free marg for the coconut oil.
Jenna | The Urben Life says
Yes, great tips Patty!
Auralie says
These sound wonderful! Can I sub veg oil or dairy free butter? We have a coconut allergy
Jenna | The Urben Life says
Thanks so much, Auralie! Yes 🙂 Melted dairy-free butter should work just fine as a replacement
