Another hummus recipe? YUP!! I told y'all, we love hummus around here... And this is another winner that y'all must try!
Great for a fun twist on the popular dip, easy snack, or quick party appetizer.
Homemade Taco Inspired Hummus
The ingredients are pretty standard for homemade hummus, we're just including a pico de gallo topping!
- Chickpeas
- Tahini (optional)
- Avocado oil
- Aquafaba
- Lemon juice
- Garlic
- For the topping: Roma tomato, jalapeño, and red onion
What is aquafaba?
The liquid in the can of your chickpeas is called aquafaba. It makes our hummus fluffier, lighter, and smoother!

Can you use a packet of taco seasoning instead of all the separate spices, quicker and easier?
Jenna | The Urben Life says
Hi Ron, you sure can!

What a fabulous option to try in the place of or even alongside chips and salsa! Mexican dishes are some of my favorite food choices, and this appetizer is the perfect add-on to a meal!
Jenna | The Urben Life says
Totally 🙂 I hope you loved it!
Annette says
does it matter the type of oil? We never use avocado oil... so would any oil be fine? Cause otherwise the recipe looks quite doable.
Jenna | The Urben Life says
Olive oil would be great too 🙂
