Here's our feeding essentials for baby with personal reviews so you know what to buy when shopping for your little one.
From choosing baby bottles to starting solids, here are the best feeding products I've found as a first time mom. If you're looking for fuss-free, easy to clean, affordable, and reliable products – this guide is for you!
Drinking
I've got you covered from beginning baby bottles to transitioning to straw cups!
- Baby bottle: I highly recommend Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Anti-Colic Bottles. We switched to these after a few nights of gassiness and never looked back. I'll take washing the extra pieces over a gassy baby any day!
- Training cup: The Honey Bear Straw Cup is a squeezable sippy bottle with long straws. Before introducing baby to a straw cup, we practiced with this.
- Straw cup: We all love the Olababy Silicone Training Cup with Straw and Lid. One side has easy-to-read measurements, the base is weighted for stability, plus it can be used an an open cup when the time comes. The ezpz Mini Cup + Straw Training System has similar features! (Thank you ezpz for sending free products for us to try.)
Feeding
Before we get too far into starting solids, you're going to need a high chair. The Munchkin Float is incredibly easy to clean, folds for compact spaces, is lightweight, and looks great. To keep your little one clean, I'd suggest this KeaBabies Silicone Bib Set, Bumkins Baby Bib, and Bumkins Sleeved Bib.
- Plates: This Bumkins Silicone Suction Plate is my go to! I like the 3 large sections and how easy cleanup is.
- Bowls: I most often use the Munchkin Stay Put bowls, as the suction seems to be the best that I've found.
- Placemats: The low-profile ezpz Mini Mat is thick and sturdy enough for offering both liquids and solids in the built-in sections.
- Utensils: At the time of publishing, we're still pretty new to utensils but so far we really like Bumkins Silicone Trainer Spoons and ezpz Mini Utensils. They're both well-designed and easy to clean.
Cleaning
I never knew I could be so passionate about cleaning supplies, but these items are a game changer – especially if you're bottle feeding and/or pumping.
- Sterilizer: We have the Dr. Brown's All-in-One Sterilizer and Dryer and it works great! Bonus that it's one of the cheaper options available. If you get a sterilizer, do yourself a favor and get one with a built-in dryer.
- Bottle brushes: There are so, so many baby bottle brushes out there but I like these Munchkin Sponge Bottle Brushes the best.
- Sterilizer bags: The Dr. Brown's Microwave Steam Sterilizer Bags are great for travel. You can steam baby bottles, pacifiers, pump parts, and more.
I hope this guide helps when choosing products for your babe! I'll pop back in and update as we grow. Leave a comment if you found this useful or if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.
