Spring cleaning started early for me this year and I'm still feeling inspired! I've been sharing before and after photos on Instagram, so here's my work in progress pantry organization on a budget post.
For years, living in apartments, we didn't have a pantry. You can see how I made a makeshift open pantry in this blog post. When we started our house hunt, I dreamed of a large walk-in pantry but realistically I just wanted a space with a door to store food. In our current house, we have a standard pantry and moved the wire shelving from our apartment days to the laundry room.
Affordable Pantry Organization
I'm so thankful to finally have a pantry where things are out of sight! I put off organizing our kitchen for about 2 years, just because items add up and I wanted to make sure everything was functional the way we had it. Like I mentioned, it's still a work in progress but here's what works for us, right now.
Pantry Organization Under $50
Here are the 3 organization items that completely changed our pantry!
These clear plastic storage bins are my favorite! I have them all throughout the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and beyond. Here's how I use them in the pantry:
- Baking ingredients: Yeast, baking soda, baking powder, dairy-free chocolate chips, sprinkles, cornstarch, etc.
- Bulk section: Quinoa, flaxseed, oatmeal, rice, nuts, seeds, etc.
- Misc: Coffee beans and lots of random seldom used ingredients
This 6 piece air-tight storage container set has been on my wish list for years. I finally bought them and fill them with flours, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and powdered sugar.
Lastly, my bamboo lazy susan! It's perfect for all our sauces and condiments. How many different hot sauces do y'all have? I'm afraid to know our total count.
