Homemade Soft Pretzels

These everything bagel soft pretzels come together in about an hour and are the perfect snack no matter the day or time! Dip them in hummus, mustard, or my favorite - homemade beer cheese dip!

Psst... Don't have everything bagel seasoning? You can buy it on Amazon or make it yourself at home. Simply stir together 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, 2 tablespoon poppy seeds, 1 tablespoon dried minced onion, 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic, and 2 teaspoons sea salt.

Everything Bagel Soft Pretzels

Everything Bagel Soft Pretzels are soft, chewy, and full of flavor! This crowd-pleasing snack comes together in about an hour, with under 9 ingredients - all 100% dairy free, egg free, and vegan friendly.

Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

For the baking soda bath

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda

For the topping

  • 3 tablespoons dairy-free butter melted
  • Everything bagel seasoning homemade or store-bought
Prevent your screen from going dark while you're cooking!

Instructions
 

  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, stir the instant yeast and sugar into warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Add salt and flour to the mixing bowl and knead using the dough hook attachment. Continue to knead until soft and smooth, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425F and prepare 2 baking sheets. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased surface and divide into 8 equal pieces. Let rest for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the baking soda bath by bringing water and baking soda to a boil.
  • Roll each piece of dough into a long rope and twist into a pretzel shape. Once baking soda bath is boiling, carefully drop each pretzel into the water and let simmer for about 1 minute, then transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush each pretzel with melted dairy-free butter and top with everything bagel seasoning. Bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then serve.
