Dairy Free Sloppy Joes
This quick and easy dairy free sloppy joe recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner. Sloppy joe sandwiches are sweet, savory, and delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ onion chopped
- ½ bell pepper chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Hamburger buns, for serving
Instructions
- Using a large skillet over low-medium heat, drizzle a tablespoon or two of oil and cook onion and bell pepper until softened. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and increase heat to medium-high. Let meat brown, stirring and breaking into pieces.
- Once the meat is cooked, add the ingredients and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and lower the heat, stirring occasionally, until thick and saucy.
- Toast hamburger buns and serve warm sloppy joe meat mixture on top. Serve warm and enjoy immediately!
Notes
Store leftover sloppy joe filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freeze sloppy joe filling in freezer bags for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge when ready to eat. The best way to reheat is in a skillet or saucepan until warm. Or use a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until warm.
