These air fryer frozen brussels sprouts are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Great for a quick and easy side dish!

Have you ever tried cooking frozen vegetables in the air fryer? It's incredibly simple and the texture can't be beat. No mushy veggies over here! The end result is perfectly caramelized brussels sprouts, no chopping or prep work required!

One of the best things about cooking with an air fryer is how quickly foods cook and come out with a perfectly crunchy or crisp exterior. Some of my favorite air fryer recipes are these crispy roasted sweet potatoes, crescent rolls, and tortilla chips.

I recently started experimenting with air frying frozen foods and I'll never go back to steaming in the microwave or turning on the oven. You can make things like frozen hamburgers, frozen nuggets, frozen corn on the cob, and more!

Why you'll love this recipe

  • No fancy ingredients! Find everything you need at your local grocery store.
  • Air fryer brussels sprouts are easy to customize with different flavors.
  • Meal prep brussels sprouts ahead of time for weeknight dinners.

Equipment

I've tried a few different air fryers over the years, but this Ninja Foodi is my favorite. It has two separate air frying baskets that allow you to cook at different temperatures and times. It's been incredibly helpful in our kitchen.

Buy Ninja Foodi Air Fryer

This air fryer is convenient and easy to use. It's large enough to cook in big batches, yet compact enough to fit on the countertop.

Ingredients

  • Frozen brussels sprouts: Any brand of frozen whole brussels sprouts will work. They're already cleaned and ready to be cooked.
  • Oil: Olive oil, avocado oil, or your favorite cooking oil helps the brussels crisp up. However, feel free to simply coat with oil spray or omit entirely.
  • Salt and pepper: Season your brussels sprouts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, or your favorite seasoning.

How to make air fryer frozen brussels sprouts

Using an air fryer to roast brussels sprouts is faster than using an oven, plus cleanup is a breeze.

  • Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, toss frozen brussels sprouts with oil and seasoning.
  • Step 2: Place frozen brussels sprouts in air fryer basket.
  • Step 3: Air fry frozen brussels sprouts at 400F for 10 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy.

Air frying tips

For best results, I have found that in order to get the best texture, do not thaw the brussels! If they thaw, they're more likely to be soggy, rather than crispy.

Also, do not over-crowd your air fryer basket. A single layer is best, two layers is generally fine. Anything over that, you should consider cooking in batches.

Air fryer models vary based on brand, type, and shape. Whether you have a basket style or oven style (like I used to have), the cook time should be similar. Just keep a close eye on your veggies, especially the first time you try this recipe.

What to serve with brussels sprouts

Serve roasted brussels sprouts alone, with an extra pinch of salt, drizzle of tahini, or balsamic glaze.

How to store leftovers

Store leftover brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.
