Welcome back to Tea Time with Jenna! Brew yourself a cup of tea, take a seat, and let’s chat.
Well, hello again! I mentioned in my last Tea Time that I wanted to share more behind the scenes and give y’all more insight into my life. So let’s get into it!
Currently drinking: Pumpkin Spice Black Tea
It’s 2019!!! I hope everybody had a lovely holiday season and your new year is off to a great start. I took a bit of a breather to enjoy traveling and time with family. I scaled back on the frequency of blog posts but I’m planning on getting back to at least once a week.
I also added a section to my blog: Resources for Bloggers! I have started offering help to new and growing bloggers, so be sure to leave a comment letting me know what else you would like to see.

I have quite a few travel plans already booked for 2019: A DFW day trip, Oahu Hawaii, Tucson, and a TBD summer trip!
I can’t wait to visit Oahu again in just a few short weeks. We’re actually staying at the same hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon. This time we plan to spend more time lounging on the beach, tasting local food, and really relaxing. Of course, I have to plan some activities for us so I’m looking into zip-lining, kayaking, and maybe a helicopter ride.
We have finally made some progress with filling our home! We are nowhere near complete but here’s a little update of our living room. In the corner, we have a super cool mid-century modern floor lamp but we still need something on the lefthand side of the couch. I would love to share a mini home tour with y’all, is that something you’d like to see?
This section of Tea Time might be my favorite! I want to share my fast five favorite things I’ve been loving lately.
Lemon Honey Tea
This winter weather has been rough for me this year. I got the flu in December, suffered from cedar allergies, and am almost over bronchitis. I’ve been drinking tea nonstop! One of my favorite drinks when I’m sick is a simple lemon honey tea. I make different variations of this depending on what I’m in the mood for. Sometimes I’ll add fresh lemon juice and honey to green tea but here’s my favorite simple recipe.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice from a quarter of a lemon into a cup. Put the quartered lemon into cup and fill with boiling water. Let steep for three minues, remove lemon, mix in about one tablespoon of honey, let cool slightly, and enjoy
My husband completely surprised me with a Nintendo Switch for Christmas this year. You guys, it’s SO MUCH FUN! What’s awesome about the Switch is that you can play at home connected to your tv or travel with it using handheld mode.
We spent the holidays at my parents house with my sister and grandparents and everybody was able to get in on the action! It was a blast playing Super Mario Kart with my grandpa and watching my grandparents race each other.
I mentioned above that I’ve been sick for a month and along with tea, my humidifier has been a huge help. I purchased one from Amazon years ago and it’s still going strong. I love this one because it’s so quiet and you can choose if you want the light on or off. I actually really like having it on, the blue light is very relaxing and helps me sleep better.
Mulled Apple Cider
There’s nothing I crave more from October on more than a big cup of mulled apple cider. My mom has been making it for years, so it’s defiently nostalgic and puts me in the holiday spirit. For me, that lasts until it’s warm again out side! Are you still feeling festive or are you ready for spring?
What I’ve Been Binge-Watching
Yikes, a lot!! My tv and movie tastes range from trash reality shows to true-crime documentaries. The past few months I’ve been loving Brooklyn 99, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, You, Dirty John, and Modern Family. My husband and I have actually been considering canceling our Netflix account since we also have Sling, Hulu, and Amazon Video. Of course, we’ll reactivate the account once my shows (Sabrina and You) come back but I would love to know what are your must-watch Netflix shows or movies? I feel a weekend binge coming on!
Well, that’s a wrap on our second Tea Time with Jenna! What did you think? Do you like these little pow-wows? I hope you have a great weekend!
