Thanks for joining me for the first Tea Time with Jenna! Brew yourself a cup of tea, take a seat, and let’s chat.
In the past, I have tried to share more about behind the scenes and give you all more insight into my life beyond lunch bowls and tacos. It started with me sharing monthly goals but that didn’t last long. I’m hoping by sharing life updates, my current favorite products, and what content y’all can expect to see coming up, these posts will be a fun space to connect. So let’s get started!
Currently drinking: Earl Grey Bravo Black Tea
October has been flying by! I’ve been posting twice a week, sharing my favorite allergy-friendly Halloween candy, new recipes, and recent travel guides.
In the next few weeks, you can expect to see more seasonal recipes! I’ll be experimenting with some holiday appetizers, side dishes, and desserts.
If you’ve been following The Urben Life blog for some time, you may remember that my husband and I moved into our first home this past summer. This weekend, we browsed through a couple furniture stores and I think we’re getting closer to deciding how we want to fill our living room. Since I’ve officially taken over one of the guest rooms as my office, I’m on the hunt for a fun and affordable rug to make it more my own. I would love to add to the home section on my blog and share with y’all how we make this house our home, kitchen organization, and decorate for the holidays.
This coming weekend is GFAF Expo! I’m super excited to go with my sister, sample all the goodies, and meet other foodie friends.
I have a second super exciting update that I mentioned over on Instagram Stories a few weeks ago. We’re going back to Hawaii!!! We visited Oahu on our honeymoon and I can’t believe we get to go back. Zack will be attending a conference, so during the day, I get to explore solo. We decided to extend the trip a few days so that we can lounge on the beach, do a little hiking, and maybe even island hop! Let me know if you have any recommendations, we’re interested in any and all restaurant and activity suggestions!
This section of Tea Time might be my favorite! I want to share my fast five favorite things I’ve been loving lately.
Y’all know I love sweet potatoes and I love giving back, so I teamed up with Spudsy to review these snacks and host a giveaway for one lucky winner. Spudsy is the world’s first sweet potato puff. Ever since I discovered these puffs, I needed to try them ASAP! They’re plant-based, allergen-free, non-GMO, and guilt-free!
Spudsy comes in three different flavors: Cheesy Cheddar, Bangin’ Bar-B-Q, and Crunchy Cinnamon.
All the flavors are seriously addicting and delicious, with each crunchy bite. My favorite is Cheesy Cheddar! I’ve already had a few Netflix binges with them in hand. I can’t wait to pair Bangin’ Bar-B-Q with a veggie burger. Do y’all remember Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists? The Crunchy Cinnamon flavor literally tastes just like them – perfect for a tasty after-dinner treat.
To enter the giveaway, simply click here! Like and comment on the photo letting me know which Spudsy flavor you’re most excited to try. One winner will be randomly chosen to receive the Spudsy Variety Pack. Good luck 🙂 The giveaway ends Friday, October 26, 2018.
Over the past couple of years, Zack and I have become quite the tea lovers. I have my morning ritual of 2 cups of black tea, 1 cup of green or herbal tea after lunch, and at least 1 cup of peppermint tea in the evening. We’re huge fans of Adagio’s loose leaf tea and Zack recently surprised me with their 40 Winks tea blend.
They combined valerian root, chamomile, spearmint, lavender, honeybush, passion flowers inclusion, lemon balm, dried cherries, and blue cornflowers – let me tell you, it’s so smooth and soothing. Perfect for right before bed as I’m winding down the day. It definitely helps ease any anxiety and helps as a natural sleep aid.
I shared about this awesome app a few weeks ago on my Instagram Stories! As I was browsing the wine selection at Market Street, I was offered a tasting of 19 Crimes and The Walking Dead. I actually really liked both my samples but what I loved were the AR wine labels. Like, what!? This free app works with 8 different wine brands and brings your labels to life. It’s kind of hard to explain but basically, you hold the in-app camera up to the label and various stories unfold. Super cool and such a great conversation starter at a dinner party.
I’m a longtime Serial fan. I was hooked on Season 1 but fell off during the 2nd season. When I heard the trailer for Season 3, I was already obsessed. This season we are told stories from typical American courthouses, one courthouse, week by week. Serial is looking at the whole criminal justice system this season and recorded everything from inside the courtrooms, back hallways, judges’ chambers, prosecutor offices, into neighborhood, houses, even prison!
Fall TV Shows
I should probably feel some shame in how many television shows I watch. The truth is though, I love them! My current lineup is Grey’s Anatomy, Riverdale, How To Get Away With Murder, and Manifest. Of course, my DVR is still full of KUWTK, The Real Housewives of [Everywhere], and House Hunters. Did I leave any shows off my list? Let me know what you’ve been watching!
Well, that’s a wrap on our first Tea Time with Jenna! What did you think? Do you like these little pow-wows? I hope you have a great week!
