Do you ever crave smoothies? It happens to me, rarely… But it does happen. For the most part, I’m a basic smoothie girl–nothing too exotic. If you remember, I have a herb garden so I have a ton of fresh mint, basil, thyme, dill, and parsley. This smoothie is a great way to use up some fresh mint!
I originally found this recipe on Oh She Glows. She recommends using more banana so you can eat it in a bowl–since I wanted more of a smoothie texture, I reduced the amount of banana.
FUN FACT: Did you know mint contains tons of potent antioxidants?! Fresh mint also contains trace amounts of iron, fiber, vitamin A, and potassium. In addition to that, it promotes digestion, serves as a natural stimulant, and provides plenty other health benefits!
Peppermint Patty Smoothie
Yields: 1 smoothie
1/2 frozen banana
Non-dairy milk of your choosing (fill up to line)
Handful of spinach
Bunch of fresh mint leaves, stems removed
Optional: chia seeds, flax seeds, rolled oats
1. Using your Nutribullet, add all the ingredients and blend until smooth!
